How the Tesla referral code works

The first step is the most important: always start from my referral link. When you click it, Tesla's system records my code as the referrer for your next order — that's what lets the benefits (1,000 km of Supercharging or €500 off) appear in the final summary.

The Tesla Italy site (tesla.com/it_IT) opens, or directly the page of the model you chose. You won't see an explicit "referral active" pop-up: the code sits in the background and will apply when you place the order. If you close the browser or change device, start again from the link to make sure the referral is still active.

In the configurator pick the model (Model Y or Model 3), trim (Standard, Long Range, Performance), paint, interior, wheels and Autopilot. Every option Tesla lists is compatible with the referral: the benefit doesn't depend on how you configure the car.

When you're ready, click "Continue to order": you'll be asked to sign in to your Tesla account. If you don't have one, you can create it in 30 seconds with email and password. The requirement is being a first-time buyer of a Tesla vehicle — not a first-time signup on the site: you can still use a referral code even with a dormant account.

On the order summary page (just before paying the deposit), Tesla shows a dedicated referral line with the benefit applied: 1,000 km of free Supercharging or, during cash-promo windows, a €500 discount line.

Confirm the order only when you see the line applied. If it doesn't appear, don't proceed: go back, close everything, reopen the referral link and start over. Once you confirm the order, Tesla cannot apply the referral retroactively — this is the single most important rule of the whole programme.
